Some time ago, in the light of the approaching climate conference in Copenhagen, I was complaining to a friend that there was virtually no chance for us common people (the grass roots) to attend big international conferences and personally witness how meaningful political decisions are developed and taken. Yes, of course, live streaming on internet and a vast amount of online and paper prints do exist, are readily available to everybody and succeed quite well in effectively updating interested citizens. Still, it intrigued me to be part of the whole, be on-site, be there, witness it, live it. Somebody heard my silent wish (nosy persons, click here).
I hope this blog will be interesting for you and convey some of the undercurrents and emotions involved in COP15. I will focus on the small things, side events, stories overheard, chit-chatting… stuff which I guess is probably not covered by the official press. I perceive it as a privilege to be given the opportunity to be here, on-site at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, and I’d like to share this with you. Join me in one of the most important gatherings since WWII – the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark! I hope you enjoy reading as much as I do writing! And… feel free to comment and share your thoughts!
